Medication:

amoxicilline iv loading dose 2000mg, 12000mg continuous per 24 hours 3 weeks

+

cotrimoxazol (trimethoprim + sulfamethoxazol) iv 1920mg 3dd 3 weeks
Remarks:

Behandelduur bij abcesvorming tenminste 6 weken

LET OP: cotrimoxazol 1920 mg = 320 mg trimethoprim + 1600 mg sulfamethoxazol; er wordt in het EPD voorgeschreven op de trimethoprim component

In geval van goede orale belastbaarheid kan bij klinische verbetering cotrimoxazol ook per os worden gegeven (zelfde dosering als iv)
≥ 18 years

Indications: Bij allergie voor penicilline

meropenem: evt. oplaaddosis 2000mg gevolgd door 6000mg/24u continue infusie

General comments

Meldingsplichtige ziekte groep C: Het laboratorium en de arts melden (een vermoeden van) de ziekte binnen 1 werkdag aan de GGD.
