  • Bij preseptale (periorbitale) infectie.

cefuroxim iv 1500mg 3dd

metronidazol iv 500mg 3dd
Remarks:
  • Bij postseptale (intraorbitale) infectie.
  • Bij goede orale belastbaarheid kan metronidazol po worden gegeven (voor de tablet geldt dezelfde dosering als iv, bij suspensie 3dd 750 mg i.v.m. lagere biologische beschikbaarheid).
Medication:

clindamycine po 600mg 3dd
Remarks:
  • Bij preseptale (periorbitale) infectie.

General comments

Bij intraorbitale infectie: spoedconsult KNO en oogarts voor drainage.

Totale behandelduur 10-14 dagen. Bij goede kliniek kan na 2 dagen worden geswitched van i.v. naar p.o. eventueel in overleg met arts-microbioloog of internist-infectioloog
