General comments

  • Bij Toxic Shock Syndroom door Groep A-streptokokken/Streptoccocus pyogenes:
    • Meldingsplichtige ziekte groep B2: Het laboratorium en de behandelend arts melden een geval binnen 1 werkdag aan de GGD. 19-1-2023: Hoewel bij een B2-meldingsplicht de meldingstermijn 1 werkdag bedraagt, worden laboratoria en behandelend artsen verzocht ook in het weekend telefonisch binnen 1 dag te melden bij de dienstdoende arts IZB van de GGD. Hierdoor kan eventuele chemoprofylaxe zo snel mogelijk geadviseerd en voorgeschreven worden.
    • Tevens gezinscontacten meebehandelen en andere nauwe contacten controleren, zie ook Richtlijn LCI Groep-A streptokokken infectie.
    • Behandelduur antibiotische therapie minimaal 7 dagen.
    • Overweeg gammaglobuline (IVIG) toe te voegen, in overleg met infectioloog: eerste dag: 1 g/kg, dag 2 en 3: 0,5 g/kg, totaal 3 dagen.
